Hi lovecubs,
Remember that adaption I told you about? It’s being done this weekend, by an incredibly dedicated team of graduate students at Columbia University. It’s FREE and only this weekend, so reserve a seat and come on down! More info below.
Also, because I am a crazy woman love a challenge, I made roughly 30 masks for this production. So come check em out.
Love,
Chana
PS- those of you who know my partner in artistic crime Scott Rodrigue, he’s in the play! And yes, that is a creepy mask of his face. Not the dog, the other one.

Paul Iverson, a professor whose wife Lexy, has recently died falling from a
tree in their back yard. Lost in his grief, Paul sets out on a quixotic
quest: teaching their dog, Lorelei, to speak. Through his memories of
Lexy—interpreted through live music, choreography, and multimedia
projection—and his work with Lorelei, Paul struggles towards the
acceptance of his wife’s loss and, perhaps, forgiveness for them both.

Go go magic drink! Drink in the morning for optimal day seizing and happiness.
Chana’s morning smoothie for super productive days:
1 banana
1 apple
1 cup almond milk (unsweetened)
1 cup water
1 handful raw kale
2 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
Sweetener to taste (I used a half packet of stevia)
Blend until very creamy and smooth.
No, don’t make that face- you really cannot taste the kale. FYI, I wasn’t much of a morning smoothie person until I started putting cocoa powder in everything. It’s a pretty soft sell to start the day with a chocolatey drink. Frozen berries are a delicious addition, if you want to go to fancy town.
For a packed day of meetings, writing work and hopefully a squeezed in yoga class, a fiber rich vitamin packed morning is a must. I normally drink half at home, and then truck the other half around with me for a mid-morning pick me up.
Go go magic drink! Enjoy!
Come have a beer with me! My play Brad and Meredith at the End of the World is gracing the stage with some of my favorite playwrights, including Shelia Callaghan, Craig Lucas, Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Palmer and many more. It’s going to be an epic day, a relaxed party atmosphere.
So thrilled to be a part of this amazing event!
Directed by my partner in crime, Scott Rodrigue.
The awesome Eric Borlaug just posted some work from the class I’ve been teaching. Really neat to see his process- he scanned the pages from his notebook!
(Chana Porter is currently teaching a workshop through AliveWire Theatrics called “Writing from the Body.” We do about an hour to an hour and a half of yoga then silently transition into writing. I have to say, I’ve always been reluctant to try yoga, and for some reason I hate to admit it, but…
